McMaster welcomes Brazilian delegation from Rio Grande do Sul region
On October 18th a 37-person delegation of university faculty and senior administrators from the southernmost Brazilian region of Rio Grande do Sul met with a range of McMaster leaders to explore the potential for future partnerships. The Brazilian visitors were organized under the auspices of the Consórcio das Universidades Comunitárias Gaúchas (COMUNG), a university consortium representing 15 universities with more than 200,000 undergraduate and graduate students located in southern Brazil.
While at McMaster they were welcomed by Dr. Peter Mascher, Associate Vice-President, International Affairs, and met with Dr. Arshad Ahmad, Associate Vice-President Teaching & Learning, Dr. Bonny Ibhawoh, Associate Vice-President, Research (Acting), Michael Justason, Program Chair of the B.Tech Program and Marcos Costa, Manager of International Student Services. The visit was hosted as part of McMaster’s internationalization priorities, specifically engaging universities in countries with promising growth in post-secondary and research sectors.
